I am honored to be a candidate for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year Campaign. This exciting leadership development and philanthropy program allows high school students to partake in a seven-week fundraising competition for LLS. The campaign begins January 16th and concludes March 6th.

Blood cancers have a devastating impact on our society. Every three minutes, one person in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Every nine minutes, someone in the United States dies from a blood cancer. 

I got involved in this campaign because of the many different ways that cancer has impacted the people I love. I am extremely passionate about helping people, and serving others. I enjoy being able to make an impact and prove how much can be accomplished when people come together against a common enemy like cancer. I truly believe that I can make a huge difference in this world and serve a cause so much bigger than myself, but I need your help. A cure for cancer WILL be found, and we get to be a part of that right now.

Every day, researchers get closer to finding a cure. Because of people like you donating in the past 50 years, the survival rate of children with leukemia has gone from 3% to 90%.
