Welcome to Cadence Andrews' SOY Fundraising Page!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! I am Cadence Andrews and I am finishing my freshman year at Richwoods High School. It has been a very exciting year full of new experiences. I am participating in MCJROTC and am on the team who earned the honor of competing this summer in the Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) in Washington, DC. I play the viola in the orchestra. I had a victorious swim season helping my team place 1st in Conference and Sectionals and receiving a Varsity letter. Outside of school my favorite things to do are attend my youth group at Northwoods Community Church, CrossFit, and camping. I am looking forward to a 7 day hike on the Appalachian trail over Spring Break. I feel so incredibly grateful to have these opportunities that cancer takes away from so many kids. I was interested in the Student of the Year fundraising campaign competition originally because I have been looking for volunteer opportunities for my college applications. As I have learned more about The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their mission to find cures for blood cancers and to ensure patients access to the treatments they need, I wanted to help make a difference. I hope you will too! Please donate and help spread the word!
Welcome to Cadence Andrews' SOY Fundraising Page!
I am honored to participate for the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am raising critical dollars in honor of a 1 year old patient hero who is currently battling a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. My mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
They really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit my website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
