Remember Bilal

Jan 28, 2020

Five years ago, my Aunt got diagnosed with Lymphoma. From then on, her life had spiraled into a completely different path. As a type A personality, her plans for the upcoming years changed, and adapting to her new lifestyle with cancer was one of the hardest things on her. Throughout her treatment, she juggled raising her children, maintaining familial ties, and continuing her pharmaceutical job. One thing that stuck with me, however,  was her utmost positivity and her sense of style. She still maintained her unique, avant-garde fashion sense that I admire.  The day she finished treatment was a relief. I'm so proud to call my Aunt a survivor, but the memory of cancer is part of her now, as it is with other survivors. That's why it's so important to raise as much money as possible for my campaign. There are so many stories similar to my Aunt, some with more unfortunate endings. I hope that by doing the Students of the Year, the money that YOU help me raise will go towards treatment, medicines, and a potential cure. Thirty-three percent of blood cancer patients don't survive more than 5 years. Let's end this statistic. Donate today!

The picture presented is Bilal Mallick, who passed away from Leukemia. We named our team after Bilal and hope to honor him through Students of the Year.

All and any amount of donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
