Welcome to My Fundraising Page!!

Hello Donor,

My name is Omar Ali and I am hear to inform you about a program I am participating called Student of the Year, by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). 4 months ago, I lost one of my closest friends, Omar Sinan, to Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which is the why I decided to participate in Student of the Year. student of the year is a 7-week philanthropic leadership campaign to raise money for cancer research and advanced therapies. Given what happened to Omar, this program and organization means a lot to me. Omar was first diagnosed with ALL Leukemia (type of blood cancer) at the age of 3. He was cured, but then relapsed when he was 11. Last June, he was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Cancer), and after fighting for several months passed away on September 21,2018. AML isn’t a very easy cancer to fight. After seeing the pain I saw Omar go through, I realized there are millions of others going through that tragedy. It is my goal to raise $10,000 in the fight for all that have cancer.

I met Omar when I was 7 years old, so I have known him for a while. Becoming friends with Omar was one of the best decisions I made. But Omar wasn’t like everyone else. His character was one I haven’t seen before, he was nice and kind. I don’t think I have ever heard him complain ever. We would always play ball which words cannot describe how much I miss. Omar passing away was by far one of the hardest experiences I have ever had. And I hope other families and friends will never have to experience.

Omar has taught me endless things. Even a great person like him, he had to go through one of the hardest Leukemia to fight. He taught me that by all means, don’t take your health for granted, and take care of your body. And also death can come at any time it wants, so you should always show love to the people around whether you die at 80 or 18.

LLS is at the forefront of the fight to cure not only blood cancer but cancers of all types. Over 60 percent of therapies funded by LLS are used to help other types of cancer like; brain, breast, kidney and more. They are the largest non-profit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. Since their inception in 1949 they have invested more than $1.2 billion in groundbreaking research and have also helped advance nearly every therapy used to treat blood cancers today.

I hope that with your generous donation you can help me keep my promise and keep Omar’s memory alive by making something horrible end more beautifully for others who get diagnosed with cancer. Together we can change the world!
