Hello, my name is Michella Kahanding and this year I wanted to do take on a new opportunity and help others in need. I will be joining The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Students of the Year program.  

Students of the Year is a 7-week fundraising campaign offered by LLS. It is a  leadership development and philanthropy program which selects the top Bay Area students and I am proud to be 1 of 17 participating. I have gathered a team called “cuRED” to help me in my efforts to raise over $50,000 for patients and families impacted by blood cancer.  

In fact, blood cancers are the third leading cancer killers in Americans. Sadly, every three minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer and every nine minutes, someone dies from one. I am honestly honored to be a candidate and part funding better cures for blood cancer. My team and I need your help to accomplish our goal. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
