Student Visionaries of the Year St. Louis
Owen Dill | Rick's Griffins
Owen's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
My name is Owen Dill and I am currently a junior at St. John Vianney High School. I am honored to share that I have been selected as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign (SVOY). Student Visionaries of the Year is a fundraising competition among a select group of high school students in our community who compete to raise funds for LLS. The candidate team that raises the most funds during the seven-week campaign period will be awarded the title of Student Visionary of the Year.
I have signed on as a Candidate to accomplish an ambitious goal of helping to cure cancer once and for all with a lofty goal of raising $50,000. This mission is especially important to me because Rick Davis, our beloved President of St. John Vianney, is currently battling a blood cancer diagnosis.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest donor to blood cancer research in the nation. They have invested nearly $1.7 billion in research, and are leaders in advancing breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine. These revolutionary new treatments originally discovered through blood cancer research are now being tested in clinical trials for other cancers.
My campaign provides an opportunity to support the critical work of LLS in combating these diseases. I am honoring those who have battled blood cancers and raising money that will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life of patients and their families!
If you would prefer to mail your donation, you can send a check back to me at 61 Josiah Lane, Millstadt, Illinois 62260. Please make your check payable to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and print “OWEN DILL - STL STUDENT VISIONARIES OF THE YEAR” in the “Memo” section. The deadline for receiving mailed contributions is March 9, 2024. Please note: your donations are tax deductible.
Be part of finding the cure and help Team Rick’s Griffins in the St. Louis Students of the Year campaign. For more information, please contact me at 25odill@vianney.com. For more information about LLS and the Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, please visit:

My niece is a AML warrior. She’s been fighting since 2015, when she was diagnosed as a five year old. She’s traveled the country for treatment and my brave sister and brother in law have been fighting right by her side while still raising Elsa’s siblings. My sister other Lauren was diagnosed with CML in 2012. She’s on the right course of treatment and is currently in remission. LLS has been a tremendous advocate and resource for our family and Light the Night is dear to my heart. Thank you for raising awareness and fundraising for our cancer community and promoting pediatric research. Our hope is for a cure for pediatric AML. Our children are our future, thank you Owen!
