My name is Mackenzee Travis. I am a sophomore at Fort Zumwalt West. I play soccer and volleyball! I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I am running for Students of the Year because on July 9, 2009 my mom was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). It was very hard on her and our family, but she is now going on 12 years! She is the strongest woman I know and I want to do something to help not only her, but everyone else who has gone through such a terrible thing.

Kenzee, Thank you for what you are doing for patients like my husband Scott (who has CML like your Mom) and all of the other patients who have Leukemia and Lymphoma. You are making research possible so that they can live longer and healthier lives. This wasn't possible years ago. The money you raise will help those who cannot afford their medications, treatments, or even trips to their doctor's appointments for their treatments. Dear Kenzee, I think what you are doing is wonderful. Helping others is something we all should do always and you and your mom are doing it. Helping leukemia patients get meds, doctors visits, etc. when they may not have the means is the best. I am proud to be one of "Kenzee's Warriors" to help fight leukemia.
