A couple of years ago, my dad wrote a mission statement for my family, especially for my brothers and me as we make our way into the world. The part that always sticks with me reads, “We have a debt to those before us and an obligation to those after us.” When I found out that a family friend’s son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), I thought back to my family’s mission statement. This is why I decided to build a team for the Students of the Year Campaign. I wanted to run in order to make sure that everyone, including my family friend’s son, have access to healthcare and support.
