My name is Maddy Minnelli, I am a Senior at Ursuline Academy and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Oakville. I am honored to be a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2020 Student of the Year campaign.  I am writing today to ask for your support of my efforts to help LLS ensure access to cures and treatments for blood cancer patients.

I am competing with several other St. Louis Student of the Year candidates and together we will each put our best fundraising foot forward in honor of Emma Pullman, an eleven year old girl who is battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and all those fighting blood cancer.  

I am running for Student of the Year because I have lost two of my grandparents to cancer, and I never had the chance to meet my grandma because she lost her battle when my mom was young.   My mom always talks about how she was the most amazing woman, so I am running in her memory and to make sure no one else loses a loved one to this horrific disease.
