The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was established to:

• Fund cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provide free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilize thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.​​​​​​

This year the Davidson Titans have decided to join the fight against cancer as student visionaries. We are leading this team in honor of our LLS 2023 honored hero, Ella Cassedy, a current sophomore at Harlem High School, who was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia in May of 2021. She went through three months of rigorous treatment, including losing her hair and having a port placed. Thankfully, in March 2022 she received the news that she was in remission! In support of Ella and her family and other families like hers, our team decided to fundraise for the mission pillar “Patient Support.” Through your donations LLS provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families. Patient support is specifically important to us as several of our friends and family members have been diagnosed with cancer.
