Hi! My name is Ella Stone. I am a junior at Saint Pius X Catholic high school, and a member of my schools track and field and cross country team. I am also a founder and leader of my schools, cancer awareness, club, and a member of the girl power club. This year, my twin sister, Savi, and I were nominated to become candidates for the leukemia and lymphoma Society student visionaries of the year campaign. This campaign is extremely important to the two of us, as we both lost our mom from cancer 10 years ago. Heidi Stone was one of the most beautiful, courageous, and compassionate people to ever walk the Earth. There were so much pain that came from losing her, but the two of us decided to turn that pain into passion. We’ve started and named our campaign team, Fighting for Heidi, in honor of the resilient woman, we lost, and a reminder of why we fight. Our team has set an ambitious fundraising goal of $100,000.
