Students of the Year Savannah

Team Tumorators | Team Tumorators's Campaign Team

Welcome to Team Tumorators' SOY Fundraising Page!

Feb 26, 2020

We are honored to participate in the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are raising critical dollars in honor of Lily's father, Erik Johnson who is battling lymphoma. Each dollar is a vote. Our mission is to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org.

Co-candidates,

Ellie Neil, Lily Barton, and Peyton Lewis

Emma, Kate and Lily, you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this time. Erik coached my twins in soccer and lacrosse at Sayre from 2006-2012. I was his Team Mom for the HS Boys lacrosse team for many years. I considered him a good friend of mine and was always so appreciative of his support for both my daughter and son. He was always so positive and full of life! My biggest regret is that we lost touch after they graduated in 2012. With Love, Gay, Chenault and Headley VanMeter

  • Darren Bosch

Lisa and I knew Erik and the girls during my time as Head of The Lower School at Sayre School. Eric was a fantastic person and friend. In his positions of coach, teacher and athletic director he was loved and respected by the students, staff and families that made up our school community. Eric you will be missed but always present. My prayers are with his family and especially Emma, Kate and Lily.
