Students of the Year Savannah

Welcome to The A Team's SOY Fundraising Page!
We are privileged to be nominated as candidates for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) 2019 Students of the Year campaign! Students of the Year is a seven-week fundraising competition to raise money in support of LLS. Together, as a team of friends and family, we will raise the funds necessary to benefit those who need them. We are asking you to join us in assisting the efforts of LLS to find a cure for blood cancer. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student(s) of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
This year, the funds being raised are in honor of our local Boy & Girl of the Year, Michelle and John David (JD). Michelle just turned 5 and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia about a year and a half ago. JD is 13 and was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2016. One hundred percent of your funds go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission. Each dollar you contribute helps us get closer to the end goal of a world without cancer.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
We both love helping others, and this is something that we enjoy putting our time and effort into. We have been planning this campaign since October, and we hope that our work will pay off in the end. Thank you in advance for your support. All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
