Welcome to Team CUREage's SOY Fundraising Page!

Feb 18, 2019

This year we were nominated to be a part of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s 2019 Students of the Year campaign. As candidates, our goal is to raise as much money as possible to find a cure for people diagnosed with blood cancer. This is close to our hearts because Susan Brooks, one of the co-candidates, recently dealt with her dad suffering from Liposarcoma cancer. He is currently in remission, but some people aren’t as lucky. LLS not only fights to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma but it excels further than that and helps many patients in need. Our team goal is $15,000 and we confident, with your help, we can reach this and more! Please consider donating to our team and making a difference in the lives of those who those who are fighting this horrible disease.

Did you know that in 2017, LLS had a hand in funding 15 of the 18 new FDA approved therapies for blood cancer treatments? The research that LLS funds is even going beyond blood cancer to help other cancer patients.

Additionally, each year, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society chooses a boy and girl of the year who have been diagnosed with a blood cancer to serve as the inspiration for the campaign.  This year’s campaign honors our local Boy & Girl of the year, JD and Michelle.

Michelle is 5 years old loves playing with dolls, the colors pink and purple, and is a local here on Hilton Head! JD just turned 13 and loves tractors, sports, and being outside. They were both diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) and will be done with their treatments by the end of 2019! With your donation, we hope to improve the lives of patients like JD and Michelle and make an impact on others who continue to fight this disease.

As you think about making your donation, this is how you impact the lives of these fighters.

  • A generous donation of $1,000 provides patients with an opportunity to talk to a doctor and educate them on their illness and work with a specialist on a treatment plan.

  • A donation of $100 makes sure laboratory researchers have the right tools to find cures.

  • A considerate donation of $50 helps the families of patients join a support group to help them through the tough time in their lives.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
