This year I am proud to announce I will be participating in Students of The Year as a 2019 candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Students of the Year, also known as SOY, is a seven week fundraising competition to raise money against blood cancer and diseases.

  I chose to do SOY because I was once affected by a blood cancer. When I was just two years old I was diagnosed with leukemia. I struggled going through a tough 3 ½ year battle and was admitted into the hospital many times, along with weekly and monthly oncologist appointments.I still go to yearly checkups with my oncologist to make sure I remain cured and to monitor any late term effects of chemotherapy. I was blessed with the help of outstanding doctors and the support of my amazing friends and family to beat the battle. Yes, I won the battle, but it was a very costly one. Some families are not as fortunate as others and need help with funds for their treatments and medications through programs such as family support and research. The research the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society conducts helps to not only find new chemotherapies and treatments for blood cancers, but serves as the groundwork for research for other cancer research such as breast and colon cancers.

  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society helps these cancer patients and makes the process easy because it’s already hard on the families. Our team, Summers Kicking Cancer,  is very passionate towards helping LLS in their mission to cure cancers such as Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkins, and Myeloma. Every day your contribution can help us win this tough battle and help the families in need. Our goal is to raise $20,000 towards LLS and hopefully raise this goal to $30,000. If you would like to donate to my page and help in finding a cure and new treatments for blood cancers like the one I was fortunate to beat. All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.
