BC Cadets for LLS!

We are honored to represent Benedictine in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year. Students of the Year is a seven-week fundraising competition from February 21st to April 12, 2019 to raise money to support LLS and its mission. We are hoping the BC community will come together to support our campaign and be united as #BC4LLS!

We have joined Gowan Smith’s campaign team with his sister, Delle Smith, and friend, Ashley Pankey, to raise as much money as possible for LLS and its mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We are asking you to help us assist the efforts of LLS to find a cure for blood cancer.

As members of the BC class of 2020, we are running in honor of friends and family that have been touched by cancer. LLS is going beyond blood cancer. The research that LLS funds to help find cures for blood cancer has gone on to treat many other cancers and diseases. A close friend of Gowan’s family, who is a Hodgkin’s Lymphoma survivor said, “In the 25 years between 1976 and 2001, the mortality rate went from 80% fatal to 95% curable.” This is why we are raising critical funds for LLS.

Each tax-deductible donation helps. To put things into perspective…

  • $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
  • $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.
  • $1,000 makes possible one-on-one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for their health care team.

Team THREE MUSKECURES (Gowan Smith, Ashley Pankey, & Delle Smith)

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
