Atlanta Students of the Year
Kathy and Joe Mizereck | Team Fo Co Cure's Campaign Team
Welcome to Kathy and Joe Mizereck's SOY Fundraising Page!
Since Joe was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia 9 years ago, we have learned a lot about this disease. His case is manageable and we are very fortunate!
This year our nephew (and my dad’s namesake) Watson Kimel has been nominated along with two of his classmates as candidates for Students of the Year by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Georgia (LLS). Joe and I have joined their team, FoCoCure (Forsyth County Cure)!
Joe and I are proud to work with Watson’s team to raise funds for LLS. Their classmate, Connor McMahon, has battled leukemia… and won. He and many others – including Joe - are alive today because of the successful groundbreaking research conducted by LLS funded scientists, doctors and other practitioners. Others are not so fortunate… they still need our help.
Team FoCoCure has a goal to raise $50,000.00. Joe and I have committed to $5,000 toward that goal. We understand this is a challenging goal for a bunch of high school students, but we know our friends and family are the most generous and empathetic people out there. Every dollar counts and 100% of the money raised goes directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Please contribute, share this web site, and help us save more lives!
Thank you,
Kathy and Joe Mizereck
PS... We really are changing the face of blood cancer and we need your help!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!

We’re so proud to read of Watson Kimel’s nomination for student of the year and want to help FoCoCure reach the $50,000 goal! Watson’s Aunt Kathy and her husband Joe inspire us every day.
