Welcome to Team Chiefs for a Cure's SOY Fundraising Page!

Feb 05, 2019

This is the official page of the Chiefs for a Cure team! Our goal is to promote a sense of philanthropy within the local community and to help cancer patients throughout the United States. Every day, hundreds of Americans due to leukemia and other blood cancers, and hundreds more struggle to pay their hospital bills for treatment. To help these individuals and promote cancer research, LLS, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, has engaged in numerous fundraising efforts and events. One of LLS's main fundraising events is the Student of the Year competition, a 7-week leadership program for high school students focusing on raising money. I was initially inspired to participate after realizing that my community needed to develop a sense of volunteerism and service. I immediately formed this fundraising team, Chiefs for a Cure, with my friends Trace Alford, Sam Gao, Khoa Huynh, Kyle Malin, and myself, Archie Chaudhury. With your help, I know that not only will we meet our fundraising goal, but we will also raise some money for a honorable cause.

In 1998, you began your rest in the silence of time with no return. Now that I am a grown man, I often reflect on all the lessons you taught me growing up as a little boy, your son, and I realize how significantly you helped, not only me, but hundreds of others, with your love for life, skill as a surgeon, and joy for family. I can’t imagine the courage you must have had before the news that clouded your future and during the fight. The impact you have made on this Earth is permanent and felt by me, those you saved and those you healed. Dad, I respect all you have done, I miss you and I love you!
