Dear Family and Friends, 

We have been given an amazing opportunity to support others. Each year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) launches its “Students Visionaries of the Year” fundraising campaign, and this year we, Mia Hudak and Ava McCafferty, are honored to be nominated as candidates. We are writing today to ask for your support of LLS’s mission in its efforts to find cures for blood cancers and to assist patients and families as they battle this disease. 

From January 19, 2023 – March 9, 2023, our team goal is to raise $20,000, which will go directly to LLS in support of its long-standing goal: a world without blood cancers. If we raise $50K or more by March 3rd, we can connect our team, Call for a Cure, to an LLS-funded research portfolio to honor our efforts to help people with blood cancers. 

We were inspired to join the Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign after hearing the impactful mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Following a nomination by former candidate, Ella Saxon, we became motivated to become a part of such a special organization. In participating in our fundraiser, you will not only help those who have personally struggled with leukemia and lymphoma, but you will also find a sense of fulfillment and purpose by contributing towards a cure.  

In 2021 alone, LLS provided $241 million in financial assistance to over 42,000 patients. With your donation LLS can continue to be the leading source of free information, education, and support for blood cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, families, and health care professionals. Your contribution will have rippling effects across the entire cancer landscape. This organization is making an impact with the dollars it raises, and we are proud to be associated with LLS. We dedicate our campaign to your family, friends, or anyone in your thoughts who has been affected by leukemia or lymphoma and we strive to spread awareness about finding a cure.
