A letter to our friends

Jan 29, 2019

Every 3 minutes one person in the United States (US) is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Every 3 minutes someone is given the news that his or her life is being threatened. Every 3 minutes a family has to deal with the devastating reality of treatment, the mental struggle, and the fear of losing a family member diagnosed with a blood cancer. Our number one priority is making sure those affected know they are not alone, and that’s where you can help.

Dollars For Hope is a student run campaign team raising money from January 21st - March 9th to help end all forms of blood cancer. Morgan Perry, Ally Wilchusky and Georgie Crockett are a part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) 2019 Student of the Year Campaign which is an organization dedicated to help fight for, support and raise money for people diagnosed with any form of blood cancer. Our team goal is to raise $30,000. Your donations can go a long way in helping cancer research and can help ultimately find a cure.

For over 50 years, LLS has worked tirelessly to find a cure. However we cannot do it alone and this is where your help is needed. Any donation counts and matters; no gift is too small! Our goal at LLS is to not only find a cure but help improve the lives of the patients and families affected by blood cancer.

In the time this letter was written and finalized, approximately 2,720 individuals in the US lost their lives to blood cancer. Be the change, and help save lives NOW.

I give this amount of money in honor of my cousin's child, Patrick Vanderslice, who just finished his cancer treatment at CHOP that he has undergone for a year. Patrick suffers from leukemia, but he is winning the battle! Please see his Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/patrickspatriots/ I am so proud of you girls for doing this. What a great thing to do! - Madame Golden
