Hello and thank you for visitng my fundraising page!

This year I am participating in Students of the Year: a seven week fundraising campaign that runs from January 7th to February 26th.This program is a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The mission of this charity is to find cures for cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and Hodgkin's dieasese, as well as to support families affected. 

I am participating in this cause in honor of my grandmother. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2002, and she unfortunately passed away on April 2nd, 2004, when I was exactly 1 month old. Cancer took away my grandmother at a young age. I never got a chance to meet her, and that is something I that I will never get back. I always heard so much about my grandmother like how excited she was meet me and how she sent lot of gifts to me from India when my mom was pregnant. I heard about how kind she was, how much she cared for her family, and how beloved she was, and it makes me wish I got to meet her.

I wish that nobody should have to lose someone to cancer, whether it be a granparent, a parent, a sibling, a friend, or anyone else. I took this initiative with LLS to help achieve that goal and contribute in a small way.
