Angelina Nazario | Team A Chance at Childhood
Angelina's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
My Grandmother is my biggest inspiration, when I was 9 she suffered a devastating stroke. From there she was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer, Polycythemia Vera which had caused the stroke. The idea that cancer may one day take her from me is beyond devastating but is a hard reality many children's families face worldwide. I am running not only for my grandmother, Sahara, but to give children like our honored hero Emily a chance at childhood.
There has been incredible progress made, but there is more to do as Leukemia remains a leading cause of childhood cancer deaths. We need new, gentler cancer treatments that will allow young patients to survive their cancer and thrive after treatment. I believe that every child should have the ability to experience childhood outside of a hospital room and live without the limitations cancer brings.
As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quarupled the survival rate for blood cancers.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation so together we can give A Chance at Childhood.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
