I am incredibly honored to have been nominated to run alongside Meg Macauley for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's 2020 Student of the Year. Running for Student of the Year has become somewhat of a legacy at Ursuline Academy which is where I currently attend as a Sophomore. So when my “big sister” and mentor Annabelle Gioffree nominated me I could not have been more excited to help uphold it. Through this campaign, I aspire to not only raise donations but spread awareness to as many people as I can of the desolations of blood cancer. 

Going to a school such as Ursuline, the core values of my education have been based around serviam and the calling to serve my community. Meg and I have stood up to take a step towards the cure for blood cancer and we hope you will follow.

One thing that I have learned by leading this campaign is that everyone has been touched in some way by cancer. I too have been affected very close to home by its devastation. This opened my eyes to see so many people around me also suffering. I realized there was no better way to help than try my best efforts at fundraising. 

The leadership skills that I have obtained while preparing to kick off our campaign have been unmatched. These are skills I will continue to apply for the rest of the campaign and carry with me into the future.
