Welcome to Trey and Paige Transue's SOY Fundraising Page!

Jan 16, 2020

Dear Friends and Family,

We need your help with something very close to our hearts, and before we get into the details, we would like to share a little bit about why this means so much to us.

Last year, Paige was a member of the Royal Cobras, a level 5 Senior Co-Ed Competitive cheerleading team at Stars Vipers in Schertz, Texas. Their team won most of their competitions, received a paid bid and took home the rings to win The Summit, the national competition at Disney in Orlando.  This team was full of talented athletes, but the most touching thing that Paige experienced was the bond that they shared.  At every competition before they went out on the floor they held hands in a circle and prayed together; each said words to motivate each other and they played the song “Rise Up” with closed eyes and tears.  One of Paige’s teammates on Royal Cobras, a fellow “flyer” and her great friend, is Sierra Delgado.  Like Paige, Sierra is 14 and a freshman in high school.  While Paige went on to be a Westlake High School Cheerleader, Sierra stayed at Stars Vipers to become a member of Anacondas, a level 6 co-ed (world’s) team, and is a New Braunfels High School Freshman Cheerleader.  Paige and Sierra made so may fun memories last year on Royal Cobras and even shared a special handshake before walking out on the floor every time to compete.

But this November, Sierra started the fight of her life.  Sierra went to the ER on Thanksgiving morning with, what they thought, was just shoulder pain.  Her x-rays showed a large mass in her chest that started above her collarbone to below her rib cage pushing against her heart, lungs and throat.  A few days later she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and after 28 days of aggressive chemotherapy treatments & other medications, Sierra had a series of tests and CT Scans to see how these treatments have worked.  We received great news that Sierra’s tumor has shrunk by 87%!  The treatment hasn’t been easy for Sierra, and her fight has only just begun. But at 14 years old, she is showing all of us how to fight cancer and win.  Her physicians are optimistic that she can beat this disease!

So when we were nominated to participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year fundraiser this year-- to raise as much money as I possibly could for blood cancer research, we didn't hesitate. Our goal is to raise $25,000 (and hopefully more) during the 7 weeks from January 8th to February 28th. This is where we need your help. Any donation, large or small, is your pledge to help us achieve the goal of a world without blood cancer. Blood cancer research has led to treatments like those Sierra has received as well as for many other kinds of blood cancers and other types of cancer and terminal diseases, which affect us all.

Our second plea to you today is to send our link to anyone you know that might be willing to support this important cause. Please ask your friends, family and your business associates to donate what they can. Also, see if your company will agree to match what you and your co-workers can give.

Our long-term goal is a world without cancer. A world where no other family has to hear the words, "You have Lymphoma. You have Leukemia. You have cancer."

With love and so much gratitude,

Trey and Paige

What a wonderful way to support such a great cause!. I am donating in honor of your cheer friend, Sierrra, as well as my Aunt Mary Sue who passed away from leukemia just before I was born. May this campaign surpass its goals and God bless us with a cure very soon.
