A little bit about me!

Hi, my name is Syian Sawian and I am a Sophomore at Irvington High School. This is my first time being involved in Student Visionaries of the Year program with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am very excited to be fundraising for LLS. I want to be able to help people so they don't need to loose a loved one, or battle cancer. My grandma died of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma back in 2016 when I was 9 years old. I always wish I got to spend more time with her. My goal of this fundraiser is to help people so they don't need to go through what my family had to. I joined this program to make a difference and to help those in as many ways as possible. I am looking forward to spending these next few months fundraising for a cause which means so much to me and many other people.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
