Ryleigh's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 19, 2021

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, welcome!

Sophia and I have been given an amaing opportunity to participate in the 2021 Students of the Year campaign for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! It is a great honor to contribute towards funding cancer cures and improving lives of patients and their families around the world. To learn more about our campaign please read below!

Today more than a million Americans are fighting a daily battle with blood cancers and every 4 minutes another person unwillingly joins the fight. I have been given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the battle and help those living with blood cancers. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has nominated me as a candidate in their inaugural “Student of the Year'' fundraising challenge, and I could not be more excited to make a difference in the lives of patients across the country. I am proud to lead my campaign team “Visions for a Victory” towards our goal to raise 35,000 dollars during the next 7 weeks - from January 21st to March 11th.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is known for funding groundbreaking research to take the next step in finding better treatments and cures for cancer and is one of the largest donors to blood cancer research in the nation. LLS has helped more than 55,000 patients afford treatment in addition to investing 1.3 billion into cancer research. By participating in this campaign I am honoring those who have battled blood cancers and raising money that will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. With your help we are raising awareness about the impact of blood cancers and the cutting edge treatments that are currently being researched as well as inspiring others to join the fight to find a cure.

While each story is moving, our honoree of this year's Student of the Year campaign William Cervinka’s experience of overcoming leukemia serves as a motivation to fight against these grueling diseases. As a young child, William was diagnosed with Leukemia. He battled strongly for four years and with help from LLS and is now in remission  With strong support and determined strength, William survived one of the most arduous diseases. Today, William is a healthy young boy who lives with his family in Port Chester and is enrolled in 6th grade at Resurrection School in Rye NY.

Leukemia still causes more deaths than any other cancer among children under the age of 20. My campaign provides an opportunity to support the critical work of LLS in fighting these diseases.  To donate online, please visit our fundraising webpage, https://events.lls.org/ctwhv/CTWHVSOY21/vvictory. If you would prefer to mail your donation, please use the enclosed donation slip and pre-addressed envelope.  Please make your check payable to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and print “Visions for a Victory” in the “Memo” section.  The deadline for receiving contributions is March 11th. Please note: your donations are tax deductible.  Aside from donations, we would love to hear from you or someone you know who would be willing to donate goods or services for auction items, sponsorships, ads, or other possible fundraising opportunities.  Large or small, your contribution to this worthy effort will be greatly appreciated.

Help be part of the cure and help my team compete in the 2021 Students of the Year campaign! For more information, please contact me at [914-393-7548] or [ryleighf0424@gmail.com] as well as our team email {visionsforavictory@gmail.com}.
