Dear Friends,  

So much has changed in a short period of time during this global pandemic - the world around us, our neighborhoods, gathering spaces, schooling and the places we call home.  Now more than ever, more research and treatments are necessary for blood cancer patients.  In today's world, almost every person around you knows someone who has been affected by blood cancer. 

The Students of the Year program is a seven- week, philanthropic leadership development program during which high school students from around the country utilize skills, such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management, to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are honored to participate in this program and represent Maria Regina High School.  In addition to fundraising, it is our hope to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children, teens and adults. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a foundation that raises awareness and money for those who suffer from blood cancer. 

Cancer has affected our own family and friends. With this opportunity to participate and be involved in such a meaningful cause, we hope to be able to make a difference and spread awareness while raising life-saving funds. Our campaign kicks off on January 21st and ends on March 11th.  If we raise the most amount of money in our community, we will be awarded the title “Students of the Year.”

Our team, Paws for a Cause 2.0, is working very hard to reach our fundraising goal of $15,000. In order to reach our goal, WE NEED YOU!!  We are writing to you today to ask for support of our team by making a donation to LLS.  You can donate via our website: https://events.lls.org/ctwhv/CTWHVSOY21/pcause  or by mailing a check with our team name in the memo to our return address. You can also contribute in other ways by donating valuable items, event tickets, prizes, etc. that we can put up for auction at the Grand Finale. Please note that every donation has the potential to leave an impact on thousands of lives.
