Dear Family and Friends, 

Thank you for visiting Lizzie DeYonker and Meika Tomita's Team Bulldogs Beating Cancer fundrasing page! We are so thrilled to be involved as students of the year candidates for the 2021 campaign!

We are participating in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS), Students of the Year, fundraising campaign as Team Bulldogs Beating Cancer! The two of us will be fundraising to help support blood cancer research and the mission of LLS, which is to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. 

‘Students of the Year’ is a philanthropic leadership development program for high school students. It is a seven week fundraising competition from January 21th to March 11th and the ‘Students of the Year’ title is awarded to the candidate or team who raises the most funds in the community. Our mission is to not only raise money, but awareness and attention to blood cancers like leukemia. 

This year will be the fourth consecutive year in which a team from Irvington, NY will be participating in this campaign. We are so excited and honored to keep this legacy alive and to continue to build the support our community has for LLS.  Over the past decade LLS has funded over 40% of cancer research programs, drugs and treatments. In the past three years, the three Irvington teams have raised over $110,000 and we would love to add even more this year! Our goal is to raise $20,000 throughout this 7 week fundraiser and we need YOUR support! There are several ways to get involved including helping us:

• Secure corporate sponsors or major donors 

• Solicit for auction items for our Grand Finale Event 

• Plan a virtual event

We are reaching out to our family, friends and the entire community to gain your support and attention. We plan on fundraising through different events that will work to not only raise money for LLS but also bring the community closer together. Our end goal is to create awareness and raise money that will be put towards finding a cure. I hope that after reading this letter you become as enthusiastic and excited about this campaign as we are.
