(JE)t To's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Hello!
I am pleased to announce that my fellow Oak Knoll classmate, and friend Jenny Callandriello and I have been nominated as 2021 Students of the Year candidates for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is a seven-week fundraising campaign that starts January 16th and ends on March 7th. My team, (JE)t to a Cure and I are working hard to fundraise a goal of 25,000 dollars in honor of the people we know who have battled cancer and may have to fight later. Although my family members have not suffered from Leukemia or Lymphoma many other kinds of cancer have been present in my family. Both of my Grandpa’s were taken by cancer when I was young. They suffered immensely during their time of being sick. By fundraising this money, I want others who are struggling with cancer to feel less pain and have the time with their loved ones that I did not receive. The money we raise can help fund a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma. Although this is not a cure for all cancers one plan of research can open many windows and further assist a remedy for other forms of cancer. While working to reach our goal we need your support and help to save the lives of others who are struggling with cancer.
I am corresponding with you because any donation big or small goes a long way. If you are interested in making a donation the link is below:

You can also make donations by sending a check to LLS New Jersey P.O. Box 22447, New York, NY 10087-2447 with (JE)t to the cure in the memo line!
Your participation and support will be instrumental in making our event a great success, bringing us closer to a cure for all blood cancers!
With many thanks,
Emma Kilgallen

Hello!
I am pleased to announce that my fellow Oak Knoll classmate, and friend Emma Kilgallen and I have been nominated as 2021 Students of the Year candidates for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is a seven-week fundraising campaign that starts January 16th and ends on March 7th. My team, (JE)t for a Cure and I are working hard to fundraise a goal of 25,000 dollars in honor of the people we know who have battled cancer and may have to fight later on. Unfortunately, my Grandma Jeanette lost her battle to breast cancer around 7 years ago, seeing her go through this very painful and scary experience encourages me to want to help prevent other people from going through what I did. My parents were also both diagnosed and survived different types of cancer. This shows me that it is possible and with all the sad losses, there are good outcomes. But with more research, less and less people will have to go through what I did. From experience, I have been told the words, “I have cancer” by my loved ones much more than I would like to say, and I want to be able to make as little people go through that. Although it was not always Leukemia or Lymphoma, a cure to one cancer opens a window of opportunity to cure all other kinds. This is what your thoughtful and generous donations to LLS will contribute to when looking for the cure.

Why are we doing this?
We want to be able to make a difference in the quality of peoples lives and end the pain people endure while fighting Leukiema and Lymphoma. Along with this we want to make an impact while we are young, and show others that age should not hold you back from something that you are passionate about.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, welcome!
I encourage you to join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. By donating to LLS, you support the many facets of LLS’s mission work from investing in groundbreaking research, providing education and support to patients, and advocating at the state and federal level for legislation to help those living with cancer. My appreciation for your support cannot be overstated — each and every dollar donated to LLS brings us closer to our goal to end blood cancer and makes an impact for cancer patients and their families.
As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, LLS is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. LLS’s signature fundraising campaigns drive critical support for its mission, including a nearly $1.3 billion investment in cutting edge cancer research worldwide since it was founded in 1949. Since the 1960s, survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled.
Every facet of LLS’s mission – research, education and support, and policy and advocacy – work in harmony to put blood cancer patients and their families first. LLS has helped millions impacted by cancer throughout its more than 70-year history, even funding breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures that is now helping patients with other cancers and diseases. That is why at LLS we say that beating cancer is in our blood.
Please visit my website as often as you can and share it with everyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. Together, we have the power, the passion and the resolve to achieve a world without blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible.
On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!

Emma and Jenny, you girls are killing it! Keep up the hard work because what you are doing does make a difference for everyone who has been affected. Cancer takes so many lives every day and I know that we won’t stop until that number hits zero. It’s the little things like this that have the biggest impact. One of my dear friends Will was diagnosed with leukemia when he was super little. I remember visiting him in the hospital as we rolled toy cars up and down his hospital bed. He’s recovered since then and is crushing it now, but it takes all of us to tackle cancer head on. In the past I have gone to many of the Leukemia and Lymphoma walks in Morristown and it’s so inspiring to hear people’s stories of perseverance after they beat cancer, but it’s also a time to remember those who unfortunately did not beat it. Keep up the amazing work!
