Angelina's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.
This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.
My name is Angelina Bush. I am a junior at West Essex High School and I live in Fairfield, NJ. In 2021, my grandmother, Shirley, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). In 2022, it took her life. I am a mosaic of everything my grandmother has taught me. Most weekends in my childhood, Shirley picked me up from gymnastics or school and took me to her house. We baked, looked for new recipies, and worked in her garden which was abundant with mint, tulips, basil, and most importantly, lilies. She taught me how to make every recipe unique, like adding a pinch of cinnamon or a teaspoon of vanilla extract to her special rice crispy recipe. My heart was shattered when I found out about her cancer. I watched this deplorable disease consume my grandmother. To witness her health decline so rapidly impacted the way I look at life. I no longer take things for granted, and I cherish every moment. As a result of my grandmother’s passing, I became a student visionary. By becoming an LLS student visionary, I am a part of the fight to find a cure for blood cancers and diseases. I want to make sure no more families lose their loved ones to blood cancers. Join me in my journey to raise $100,000 towards research for battling blood cancers. Together, we can change the future of blood cancers.
We are saving lives not someday, but today. With your support, and continued collaboration among researchers, doctors, advocacy organizations, pharmaceutical companies, regulators and patients, we are well on our way to making someday today. Please join the team and help us all fight cancer.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
