DAY OF KICKOFF – JANUARY 10, 2024!!

Dear Colleagues, Friends and Family,
THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!
Some of you may already know, and for those of you who don’t, we are very excited to share with you that my daughter Meredith-along with my 2 other daughters Bethie and Annie, my husband Dr. Hoye and I -are participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Visionaries of the Year program. Student Visionaries of the Year is a 7-week philanthropic competition for high school leaders seeking to make an impact in the fight against cancer. This cause is incredibly important to me because blood cancer, specifically leukemia, is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in children and young adults and has affected our lives personally.
My family, as you know, has had quite a history with cancer. My mom Ann P. Conti had kidney cancer, I had breast cancer several years ago and my daughter Bethie had leukemia when she was 3. She had to get a stem cell transplant and was in the hospital for 42 days straight, but she managed to survive! She is now a senior in high school, applying to college for next year. I want to assist and support Meredith help LLS (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) stop cancer for good in honor of Bethie and her Grandma Ann. Life will be better once cancer is stopped once and for all! Our team name is Heroes of Hope, and as a team we want to raise at least $50,000 to fight blood cancers! I hope you will consider helping us reach this goal!
Heroes of Hope will be raising funds between January 10th, 2024 and March 2nd, 2024. We are determined to leave our marks on the fight against cancer to the best of our abilities. We cannot achieve this goal alone, though- we need your help.
Please consider supporting our campaign and the mission of LLS by making a tax-deductible donation to my online fundraising page:

In addition, here are some other ways you can support our fundraising efforts:

Being part of this campaign means so much to us, and we are proud to help our children's generation be the last to see cancer. Thank you so much for your support!!!

Ann Conti was a pioneering spirit who proved that there are no limits to what a person achieve, and that goes double for a woman. I was graced to know her for thirty years and she remains a role model in my life. Devoted to her family and and service to the community, she was so wise, warm and fun loving. She reminds so much of my own mother who gently brushed aside the limits that the society they grew up in imposed on women to become leaders in their community and much loved by those closest to them. We are a long way from women having the full standing in our world that they deserve, but Ann Conti deserves recognition for her role in making the progress we have. One last observation - there is a tendency for people to become stuck in their ways, to think that principles and moral values can only be expressed in the way they were shown growing up. Ann Conti knew that the world was changing, that behavior would also change, but what was in one's heart mattered above all.
