I have been given the opportunity to help the more than 1.2 million Americans who are living with a blood cancer. Each year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Central Ohio Chapter launches its Students of the Year fundraising campaign. This year, I was asked to join Bears Against Blood Cancer, led by 2018 Student of the Year candidates Isabel Sweet and Maggie Ryan. During this campaign from February 22nd to April 13th, our team goal is to raise $25,000, which will go directly to LLS in support of its mission to find a cure for blood cancers and help all those diagnosed.

Every 10 minutes, someone dies from a type of blood cancer. LLS is working to find cures. They are funding advances like targeted therapies that zero in on cancer cells and kill them, leaving healthy cells intact. LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. Now is the time to give. Support LLS in creating a world without blood cancers.
