Ever since my Grandpa B was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2012, my family has been supporting LLS. From then on, I watched my dad train for a race every year to support LLS. Growing up hearing their mission, LLS has never failed to inspire me. Seeing how many people were showing up to support people like my grandpa has been truly motivating and empowering.

When I was in third grade, my dad ran for what was then called Man and Woman of the Year. I watched him plan events, write emails, check his fundraising page, and (unbeknownst to my babysitter) I waited up for him to get home from the Grand Finale. I remember when I first heard there being a student version, and since then, I knew I would one day participate. On my first day of fourth grade, I proclaimed to my teacher that one day, I would be in Student Visionaries of the Year.

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibilities.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
