Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.
This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.
Every 9 minutes, 3 people are diagnosed with some form of blood cancer while 1 person dies because of it. In the time I write an email, the lives of 4 people have been permanently altered. More than 30% of these people do not survive 5 years past their diagnosis.
I joined LLS because these unacceptable statistics reflect the depth of the psychological and physical devastation caused by blood cancer --- this needs to change. Hundreds of thousands of people are enduring painful treatment regimens only to end up losing their vibrant futures. We cannot sideline ourselves from the fight against blood cancer and allow more lives to be destroyed by the trauma of this disease. That's why I'm working with LLS to help find a cure!
Since its founding in 1949, LLS has invested more than $1.7 billion in pioneering research worldwide, saving countless lives and paving the path towards a cure for blood cancer. One of their most notable endeavors is the Therapy Acceleration Program (TAP), which is a philanthropic initiative that collaborates with numerous biotech companies such as Immune-Onc Therapeutics to accelerate the development of breakthrough blood cancer treatments including Vyxeos®, Yescarta®, and Elzonris®. This is just one example of how LLS is a global leader in the fight against blood cancer.
Our efforts to aid LLS are crucial in order to fund breakthroughs in life-saving cancer research and treatments that help provide relief to the millions of people suffering the devastating impact of blood cancer. Everyone knows at least one person who has been affected by cancer, whether it be a family member, friend, colleague, etc... We are all impacted by the devastation of cancer, and it is imperative to work together towards finding a cure soon. We must make a cancer-free world our reality. We have a shared responsibility and every dollar counts.
I am asking you today to join me in this ambitious campaign. My team and I have until March 9, 2024 to reach our goal of raising $100K.
Please consider joining this fight by donating. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
