Kelly's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
After wrapping up the holiday season with good health and gifts, there is no better way to show appreciation for everything I have than by giving back to the community. While I have enjoyed being on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Leadership Team the past two years, I am extremely excited to announce my return to the Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign for 2024. This includes fundraising from January 20- March 9 alongside the rest of my Hope Squad team. The money raised goes towards blood cancer research, new technology, and families who need financial support. We have hope that one day no family or friends will have to deal with a loved one having cancer.
My family has been supporting LLS for over a decade because a family friend, Molly, was diagnosed and passed away from Leukemia when I was really little. In 2020, I received the Matthew Ives award at my middle school (named after a former student who passed away from leukemia) which inspired me to raise money for blood cancers through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in 2021. Through Made by Mary, I have learned about many more of others’ experiences with blood cancers and how truly devastating the impact can be on the patient and their family.
Please help Hope Squad reach our goal of raising $25,000 over seven weeks by making a tax-deductible donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Many of you have now supported LLS through Mary’s campaign or mine over the past four years. I hope you believe like I do, that someday, when someone I know is diagnosed with cancer, I’ve already contributed to improving their treatments and outcomes. Together we provide more hope and more days. Thank you in advance for your continued generosity and support.
