My name is Amani Khan and I am a junior at Waubonsie Valley High School. LLS's mission stood out to me specifically because I have seen my grandfather fight his own battle with stage 4 cancer for the last 10 years. This has given me first hand an idea of how horrible of an illness cancer is and the devastating impacts it has not only on the patient, but also on the people they love and those around them. And I know I'm not alone in this perspective. Many people have a connection to cancer and I know they can relate to this heartbreaking reality. By participating in Student Visionaries of the Year, Aashna and I want to help LLS's mission so fewer people have to be placed in such brutal circumstances. We hope to create a world where the burden of blood cancer is lighter. We are ready to bust blood cancers, but what about you?
