Vaisali's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Hello! I'm Vaisali Gunda and I signed up to save lives with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My friends and I over the next seven weeks are raising as much money and awareness as possible through the Student Visionaries of the year Campaign to catalyze a cancer free world.
This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission. Student Visionaries of the Year is a program that embodies a vision for a world without cancer. By joining the cause we can make a huge impact and fight for a cure for cancer!
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers. As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
LLS has helped advance 75% of the blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA since 2017. Thanks to the support from people like you these treatment have multiplied the survival rate of some blood cancers. I participated in this fundraising event last year and I have grown extremely fond to the mission, hearing stories of survivors has instilled so much hope and made me realize the sheer impact of these donations. We are honoring Hawken, a local blood cancer survivor who is living proof of LLS's impact. He was diagnosed with a rare, agressive leukemia at 7 months old. After undergoing intense treatment and living in the hospital for 7 months, Hawken entered remission! Now, Hawken is 7 years old. Your donations will not only propel new science and treatments at an unprecedented rate, but also improve quality of life of patients, like Hawken, and their families.
Cancer is no longer an indestructible force, with your help we're a step closer to achieving a 100% survival rate. With LLS investing $1.5 billion worldwide in blood cancer research since it was founded, we are getting extremely close to reaching our goal of living in a world without blood cancers!
Please join this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
