The day has finally arrived! The kick-off of my LLS Students of the Year Campaign has officially begun! Please help me in raising my goal of $20,000 for blood cancer research. Your support is greatly appreciated! I'm fighting for people like my uncle, Usman Haque, who was diagnosed with chronic leukemia in 2011 and has been living with it since. So many people across the world are in the fight against blood cancer, and with YOUR help, we can make the sun set on cancer!

I am proud to announce that I am a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Students of the Year campaign. January 23rd is the kick-off of our amazing mission to help so many people who are suffering with blood cancer by ensuring them access to treatments. I am reaching out to all of you in hopes of your support for our cause. I am motivated to fundraise and help support the LLS by my amazing, incredibly kind uncle, Usman Haque. My uncle was diagnosed with chronic leukemia in 2011, and continues to struggle with blood cancer. Besides this, he has a beautiful life: he and my aunt adopted a baby girl from Pakistan who brings sunlight into every room she enters. My uncle and his amazing family are who I am devoting this campaign to. Other than just my uncle, so many people who deserve to live free, happy lives unfortunately suffer with leukemia and other blood cancers. Leukemia is the second-highest disease killing adults and children. That’s why I, Sana Haque, am going to fight to raise support for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to find the cure to blood cancer! Students of the Year candidates across the state are putting our best fundraising foot forward in honor of all those fighting blood cancer. I have a goal of raising $20,000 by March 13, 2022. I hope that you can all be a part of the cause.

I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Will you help me earn that title?
 
As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
 
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
 
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
