Hi!​​​​ I'm Mayu and my team and I are participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's fundraising event to raise money and awareness for blood cancer patients & their families!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Over 40% of the cancer treatments and drugs came from LLS funded research, which is not only being used to treat blood cancer patients, but also those affected by other cancers and diseases, such as breast and liver cancers, Multiple Sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s Disease.

I was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of two and had two more relapses after that. As someone who has been greatly affected by blood cancer I understand how difficult it can be, and I want to help others going through a similar experience.

For example, consider the story of Lukas, a lively 4-year old who loves swimming, riding his bike and playing with his big brother Jakob. Lukas was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 21 months and is currently going through therapy which he is expected to complete soon right around his fifth birthday. As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
 
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
 
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
