Claudia's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Welcome to my webpage!
My name is Claudia Marter, I am a Junior at Evanston Township High School (ETHS) who has a passion for health and human services and a drive to spread awareness. I am teaming up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks as a Rays of Hope team member in support of Gillian Aaronson, our candidate for Student of the Year (SOY). All proceeds raised will go towards blood cancer research and will be directly supporting Gillian, our wonderful team, and me in reaching our goals. I joined the Rays of Hope team because I have come to understand how fortunate I am to not have been personally affected by blood cancer throughout my life. Coming into high school, I was able to meet and hear the stories of many people who were not as lucky as I was. It was then that I recognized how crucial it was that I get involved and speak out for those affected by blood cancer and be a shoulder to lean on, and a second voice for anyone who might need one. I say it is about time we see a world without blood cancer, what do you say?
As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers! All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

I'm delighted to make a donation in support of Claudia Marter's endeavor. Her mother, Joyce Marter, is one of my speakers, someone who is making a big difference in the lives of many. My donation is dedicated to the late, great Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, renowned global author and presenter, the very first speaker I ever worked with over 31 years ago. He was my dear friend. Wayne died in 2015 and had been battling leukemia for a number of years. Thank you.
