I have signed up to save lives with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). My Students of the Year team and I are working to raise $50,000 between now and March 12. The money we raise will support blood cancer research and support programs for patients and their families.

There are so many reasons to get involved and help LLS and their mission. Blood cancer is a very common cancer and has statistics proving that nearly every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed.

I personally do not know anyone specifically diagnosed with this type of cancer, however cancer as a whole has definitely affected my family. My uncle passed away from cancer complications a few years ago and my Grandfather and Grandmother had cancer as well but fortunately were able to recover. 

Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day. LLS can fund these life-saving treatments with the help of people like you.
