Elsie's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 23, 2021

Hi! I'm Elsie Thomas.

I am honored to participate in the 2021 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Our goal is to raise the most money possible for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society.  The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student(s) of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

I am excited to raise money for this society and bring better change into the world. Not only will I raise money, but I will also bring awareness to the different blood cancers   After this past year of hopelessness, I think this is a great way to make a better change in the community by saving lives.  We have already lost so many people to leukemia and other blood cancers I don't want to lose anymore.

I am part of the Warriors of Hope team. My very close friend, Gigi, and I are the leaders of this team.   We have created a team to support our mission in helping lead the fight to cure blood cancers.    I chose to be part of this effort as I wanted to be part of something that really made a difference.  We chose Warriors of Hope as our team name because we want to make sure each victim has future full of hope.  Blood cancers along with all cancers touch many families including my own.  I want to help the fight to make not just blood cancers but all cancers a thing of the past.   Help us make a difference by donating today.

Not only will the money we raise help adults but the money we raise is being concentrated on treatments for children.

Since the early 1960s, the five-year survival rates for manyblood cancer patient  have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible

They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
