Dearest Family and Friends, 

We are excited to share with you that we have been nominated to be the 2024 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Student Visionaries of The Year, representing Bullard High School.

We are three friends who have stayed connected since our Kindergarten year at Gibson Elementary School, where we learned at a very early age the importance of community and volunteering. From Girl Scouts to Kids Day, softball games to water polo & tennis matches, we have been lucky to have been supported by so many wonderful people and are excited to pay that forward through this year’s campaign. This year we are in the midst of wrapping up our junior year and this campaign is giving us the opportunity to flex our leadership skills and use our voices to promote for their greater good.

We are writing to you today to ask for your support of the LLS’s mission in its efforts to find cures for blood cancers and to assist patients and families as they battle this devastating disease. From now until April 18th, our team goal is to raise $150,000 which will go directly to the LLS in support of its longstanding purpose: a world without blood cancers.  Once we reach $75,000 in donations, we are eligible to link our team’s name to an LLS-funded research portfolio and establish a permanent connection to helping children & adults with blood cancers.

Each of us has been impacted differently by the loss and devastation that Cancer causes. Collectively we are passionate about having the opportunity to make a difference that is far bigger than us. It would be a true miracle to live in a world where Cancer can no longer have power over our health and communities.

In 1964 when the LLS was established, only 3% of children survived after being diagnosed with this type of cancer, but now the LLS has increased this survival rate to 96%.  Since 2017 the LLS has been instrumental in 44 out of the 50 blood cancer treatments receiving approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  Everybody wins when cancer loses, so now is your time to lean in.  Here are a few ways you can make a difference by donating through our Team efforts:

Option 1: You can mail a cash or check donation payable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to 4793 N. Sunset Fresno, CA 93704. Please note Knights Knock Out Cancer in the memo section of the check. 

Option 2: You can Venmo either @Nicole-Baker-34 and add in “LLS” or “Knights Knock Out Cancer.”
