Dear Friends, 

This year we, Addison Williams and Kailynn Arredondo, are privileged to be nominated as candidates to lead a team (Tough Like Tristen), in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) 2023 Students of the Year Campaign.  Students of the Year is a seven-week fundraising competition led by high school students to raise money to support LLS and their cause. We are writing today to ask for your support for our campaign and LLS’s mission to find cures for blood cancers and to assist patients and families as they battle cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, myeloma and many more. We have been given an opportunity to help others and we cannot do it without your support. 

From March 2nd to April 21st, Tough Like Tristen's goal is to raise over $100,000! Yes, you read that correctly, more than $100,000 in 7 weeks, which will go directly to LLS in support of its long-standing mission. We know this is an ambitious undertaking, but we know that we can achieve it with the help of our amazing friends and families. We are fundraising in honor of Tristen Graham, a good family friend of both of us. Tristen was diagnosed with  Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at 4 years old in 2019.  Tristan was treated with chemotherapy, a treatment researched and funded by LLS, and December of 2022 marked 1 year cancer-free!  We both are good friends with Tristen and his family, many of whom are members of our team.  After seeing what Tristen and his family went through due to this horrible disease, we wanted to participate in this great cause and do everything we can to help her and others who are affected by blood cancers.
