Dear Friends and Family,

For those of you who do not know, our names are Alyssa Kaelble and Gabriela Mora. We are both sophomores at Redwood High School in Visalia, California. We have been friends since 7th grade and we play water polo together at our school.

We are excited to announce that we are teaming up with friends and family members to fundraise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, LLS, as candidates for the Students of the Year Campaign. We are participating in a seven week fundraiser in which we work to raise money that will go toward LLS’s main goals, finding a cure for cancer and assisting patients and families as they battle Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and Myeloma. We are hoping that you will support us through this journey, we will not be able to do it without you. 

Our campaign runs from February 19 to April 9, 2021. Our goal is to raise over $200,000. This will go directly to LLS n support of its longstanding mission. We know that this is a big goal, but with your help we are hopeful that we will be able to achieve it. Along with this, if we raise over $50,000 we will be able to link a research grant to our name. 

Many teams choose to lead their campaign in honor of each year's honored hero. We have decided to do something a little different, we will be leading our campaign for everyone who is, has, and will be treated, along with all of their families. By participting and raising money for LLS we hope to make a difference by helping to cure cancer. 

There are many reasons to support LLS’s efforts. For instance, LLS helped advance 55 of the 65 blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA since 2017. Many of these LLS- supported therapies help blood cancer patients and are now also approved to also treat patients with other types of cancer and noncancerous diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune diseases. This is an organization that is making an impact with all its dollars raised, and we are proud to be associated with LLS.
