Hi my name is Emerance Gutierrez, I am a candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Students of the Year campaign. In this campaign I am in a race to raise the most money for cancer research. LLS is the leading force in blood cancer treatments. For instance, in 1964 a child’s chance of surviving ALL was 3%. Today, with LLS’s role in advances in treatments, the survival rate is 96%!! I want to help continue this life saving research and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. I am doing this campaign because I am a cancer survivor myself.

I had Acute  Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of three and remained in treatment for two years, but I am now 8 years cancer free going on 9, on December 21! I am also doing this because I have been an Honored Hero for the LLS Students of the Year campaign and I have seen all the amazing work the candidates do.  Also from experience, I have seen first hand how much LLS truly helps people all across the nation.

 My main goal for this event is 50,000 dollars but my stretch goal is 500,000.  I am asking for your donation and/or sponsorship to my campaign and help me reach my goal and help millions of people all around the world.
