Team's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Dear Friends & Family,
My name is Jake Reinhardt, son of Rick and Julie Reinhardt, and I am pleased to announce that myself along with Ashely Vial and Bailey Bracha have been nominated to participate as candidates for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Students of the Year campaign. I am writing to you today to ask for your support in my effort to fundraise and raise money to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on their mission to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, as well as improve the quality of life of patients and their
families. This campaign runs from February 24, 2022 to April 15, 2022. My team and I have set a goal to raise $80,000 within the 7 weeks of the LLS campaign for the mission of finding a cure for blood cancers. When I was asked to participate in this campaign, I immediately said yes. A few years back, I saw the eye-opening experience that my sister, Ryann Reinhardt, had as she raised $54,000 as a candidate for the LLS Students of the Year campaign. I am honored to be following in my sisters footsteps.
My cousin was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) which is
a type of blood cancer. She fought hard to beat it as it then quickly returned
I have seen first hand of the ups and downs that a person with cancerexperiences. My cousin is a woman who inspires me each and everyday.
Thank you again for you donations! Big or small, all are greatly appreciated!
Sincerely, Jake
Ashley’s Why
Dear Family and Friends,
Over a million Americans across the country are fighting against blood cancer. Every four minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with blood cancer and every ten minutes someone dies from it.
I have been given the amazing opportunity to help those fighting this heart wrenching disease. I am honored and thrilled to say that I have been asked to join Bailey Bracha and Jake Reinhardt in being a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Students of the year campaign. The
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the largest donor to blood cancer
research in the nation. Today, I have accepted the challenge to raise money
to help find a cure to blood cancers. Many, including myself, are extremely lucky to be healthy, but being healthy sometimes leads us to be forgetful of others who are not so healthy. When I was asked to ioin in the fight against cancer, I learned a lot about the cause and became much more aware of the devastating disease. This inspired me
to help others become more aware as well, but more importantly to be a small part of something that can make a huge difference in many people's lives.
Thank you in advance for your donation!
Sincerly, Ashley Vial
Bailey’s letter and Why
Dear Friends and Family,
I, Bailey Bracha, am very honored to announce that I am a candidate running for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student of the Year title. I am writing to you today to ask for your help and support for our campaign, and the LLS’s mission to find a cure for blood cancers. Since 2017, LLS has supported over 85% of Blood Cancer Treatments approved by the FDA, and has helped millions impacted by cancer. One out of three men, and two out of three women have been impacted by cancer. We must come together as a community to continue to fight this battle. I am one of many warriors suited up to fight, and I would love you to be a part of my army against the battle to beat cancer!
You may be asking, why did I choose to run for student of the year? The answer is simple, I am doing this for those who have been impacted, those who are fighting, those who have lost, and even my own near experience. On Saturday, November 6, 2021, I was admitted to Valley Children’s hospital, under the care of an oncology team of doctors. I spent 6 days in the hospital, with all signs and symptoms leaning towards Lymphoma. It was one of the scariest times of my life. I watched and listened to my parents and doctors coming up with treatment plans, signing clinical trial paperwork, trying to understand and process what cancer will look like for me. How could this fit into my already treatment and rehab plans of an ACL tear, and having so much determination on getting back on to the soccer field? How could this all be happening to me? Some say I was so lucky, some say it was simply a virus, but I say it was a true miracle of God’s healing hands. I had an army of prayer warriors that prayed upon me every day. There are times I feel guilty, as I had a friend across the hall who is still battling her fight. She’s an inspiration, and I know she will come through this not only winning, but a true Hero. And more recently, we lost an amazing person to Lymphoma, Gary Peters. Gary is my god Father’s Father, who lost his battle to Lymphoma right before Christmas. Gary was 86 years old. He was a husband of 60 years, a father of 6, a grandfather of 17, and a great grandfather of 4. He had the kindest soul, who truly cared about everyone. Gary always said I love you every time you saw him. I am running this campaign in honor of Gary. And even though he lived a full and prosperous life, all through God, it was taken too soon. So Gary, this campaign is for you! Keep dancing, and we will too!
The LLS Campaign Kick-Off begins on February 24th and ends on April 15th. Every dollar we raise will help us reach our goal of $80,000 that goes straight to LLS to help with the mission to cure blood cancer.
Thank you again for your support. Please consider making a donation, you will make a difference in many lives.
Sincerely,
Bailey Bracha
Signing up to SAVE LIVES
Hello Everyone! We are team Triple Threat! Our names are Bailey Bracha, Jake Reinhart, and Ashley Vial. We are signing up to save lives. Over the next 7 weeks, our goal is to raise as much money as possible. All money raised is put to research to find a cure for cancer. It would mean the world to us if you made a donation. Big or small, anything helps! Thank you!
Team's Students of the Year Fundraiser
I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Will you help me earn that title?
As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
