Cancer affects a large majority of people today. You or someone you know has more than likely been affected by the disease. This year, I have been asked to take part in a fundraising program that battles against cancer.

In 2014 I too had to deal with the loss of my grandmother due to cancer. She had ovarian cancer and battled long and hard to keep her loving personality and joyful life. But sadly, that cancer took her life. I know how it feels to be helpless in preventing something such as cancer from reaching someone you love. Although you may have felt helpless then, now you can make a difference. Leukemia and lymphoma are currently hurting many other families feeling hopeless. A donation to LLS is a fantastic way to support these families.

LLS is the leading force in blood cancer treatments. For instance, in 1964 a child’s chance of surviving ALL was 3%. Today, with LLS’s role in advances in treatments, the survival rate is 96%!! I want to help continue this life saving research and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

This campaign allows me to support those battling with cancer, as I hoped others would do for my grandmother during her battle. This campaign will run from February 24 to April 15. I am dedicated to raising at least $50,000, which will allow me to link a research grant to my grandmother in order to honor her and her battle.
