Hello friends and family!

I hope this finds you well. Over the past few years, I learned a scary statistic. Did you know that approximately every 3 minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer? Like so many of you, I’ve witnessed the struggles of cancer firsthand, and want to be part of a team that helps improve the lives of patients and their families, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.

Today I begin my 2025 Student Visionary of the Year campaign to raise necessary funds for a cause that’s very close to my heart: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Student Visionaries of the Year is an awesome leadership program where high-school students like me go all-in to raise money for the LLS mission - to help cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and Myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

I chose this campaign because my own grandfather Papa Bernie Witlieb was diagnosed with Large T Cell Aggressive Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at 70 years old. It was a very challenging time for him and my family, but thanks to groundbreaking treatments funded by LLS, we are grateful to say that Papa Bernie has been in remission for 12+ years. Without LLS, his recovery would not have been possible, as their commitment to research supports over 42,000 patients, with more than $241 million in grants provided to date.

Even with all the progress LLS has made, I know there’s still a long way to go. Last year, LLS’s LA student visionary class raised over $1.8 million, and I’m determined to continue that legacy. 

So here is where you come in.  Today I am embarking on a 7-week journey where, along with my team Pompa’s Cure, I aim to exceed last year’s amazing efforts.
