This year, we're proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

Our Stories & Why We Joined This Mission...

Alfred's Why Statement:

I am moving forward with this campaign after witnessing the mental and physical pain that my G-d sister experienced as she struggled through her lymphoma diagnosis and treatments. She is now clean of blood cancer and thriving, but I am setting this time aside to work with my co-candidates to fundraise money for all blood cancers and patients across the U.S.

Victoria's Why Statement:

I recently had a family member pass away from cancer and I know how deeply this pain affects one and their family since it affected my family and I in the same way. I joined LLS in hopes to help raise money and find a cure for blood cancer and to elimnate this pain for patients and families all around the world. I want to leave a positive mark on soceity and my community and put a smile on individual's faces!

Andranik's Why Statement:

I thought to myself how my relationships and leadership positions at school have an enormous effect on my campus. It’s my last year of high school and I don’t want to let this blessing go to waste. I wanted to have a positive imprint on my environment before I leave for college. I lost my grandma when I was six years old and I don’t want another human being to experience what she did and other families to be hurt the way mine hurt for her. I wanted to become a visionary to spread awareness and support the fight against blood cancer. Nobody deserves to go through something like that by themselves. I want to bring people together and help bring cancer down!

 

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
